Meditation is a practice of focusing your attention on the present moment, allowing your mind to calm. It is not a religion or a doctrine.
There are numerous methods used to meditate, as well as several reasons to pursue the practice. Monaghan and Viereck state that the goal of mediation is to create a balance between the mind, the heart, and the body. They add that you observe your thoughts and remain in a conscious state, and that the point of all forms of mediation is to move the mind away from the frenzy of everyday concerns into a more serene state.
Lynn guides you into a gentle state of relaxation, teaching you how to quiet your mind and thus allowing you to find a healthy state of meditation.
You are welcome to join our Wednesday evening group mediation.
